Straw Into Gold: Home Design

Budget home design for real people

All the doomsday talk about the economy doesn’t mean you should give up on making your home as comfortable and attractive as you want. Sure, it might not make sense to spend tens of thousands of dollars to do it, but never fear: I can help you make simple changes that will have a big impact. I believe your home should reflect your life, not the choices of a catalog stylist. And just because you allow me to help pull your place together doesn’t mean my personal style is the one you want, either! I will listen to your needs and frustrations, and help you figure out how to make your home fit you.

I can help you:
-Refine your furniture layout and color choices
-Track down the pieces (whether new, vintage, thrift or Ikea) that you need
-Fill in the holes in your accessory or art collection with vintage and handmade items, as well as budget finds from mass retailers. (I also paint abstract canvases and art for childrens’ rooms, and can shoot custom photography for you as well.)

-Develop a plan so you know what you’re looking for when you shop in the future.

To get an idea of my personal style, check out my house tour on Apartment Therapy.
